Chiropractic is for College Students, too

Young people, college students among them, can reap benefit, both long- and short-term, from the care of a chiropractor. The lifestyle of many college students can ultimately lead to problems with the back and with other joints.
Long hours spent hunched over a laptop computer or over a book in the library or a dormitory room can strain muscles and bone alignment throughout the body. Sports activities ranging from varsity competition to hurling a Frisbee on the commons can also tax the body. Carrying a heavy, book-laden backpack is something the American chiropractic Association has long warned against. And it’s no secret that college students’ sleeping habits are also not particularly conducive to long-range health. Sleeping curled up in a chair after a pre-exam all-night study session, for instance, is not the best way to care for the back. Sleeping on one’s back, rather than on the stomach or a side, is the best way to take pressure off the back.
A college student, like any other young person, feels invincible. But habits developed and actions taken as a young person can develop into problems later in life. Advise the young people in your life, whether they’re college students or not, to visit a chiropractor for an examination and advice.
